This portion of the Web site is devoted to news of the Alliance. There are over 3,600 members of the Alliance. Our intent is to have them send items of interest to the entire membership. These items can range from academic success stories, travel accounts, and/or personal events that you wish to share. Also, this will be the site for the Alliance coordinators to post news about the Alliance and its associated activities.
If you have items to share, please send them to Brooks Green.

Jeff Allender and Brooks Green attended the National Geographic Alliance Network Conference in Washington, DC. They spent all day, the 28th, on Capitol Hill where they visited the offices of Senators Lincoln and Pryor and Representatives Berry, Boozman, Snyder, and Ross (photos can be seen on the Photos page). These visits were meant to thank those who are supporting the Teaching Geography is Fundamental Act and to encourage those who are not supporting it to do so. While in Representative Snyder's office, Allender and Green were told that Representative Snyder would support the legislation. Senator Pryor has yet to support the legislation. Allender and Green spent all day Friday and Saturday morning in meetings related to the Alliance Network.
